“Healing” and the Death of Christ

ISAIAH 53:5:  “But he (Christ) was wounded for our transgressions, he (Christ) was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.”

I PETER 2:24:  “Who his own self (Christ) bare our sins in his (Christ) own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose (Christ’s) stripes ye were healed.”

There are some false teachers, parading around as “anointed, baptized in the Holy Ghost, evangelists” or “prophets,” who claim to have the “gift of healing.”  False teachers misuse, “By His stripes we are healed” (Isa. 53:5) and “By whose stripes ye were healed” (I Peter 2:24), to deceive the unstable, and those who are “tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive” (Ephesians 4:14).

Men like Oral Roberts, A. A. Allen, Robert Tilton, Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland and numerous others of the “divine healing” racket have made big bucks ($$$) off of people in this country ever since the advent of the “pentecostal” cult in the early 1900’s.  I’ve been in some of their meetings and have witnessed their “cunning craftiness,” quoting Scriptures which “proved” they can bring “healing” thru their “hands,” “touch,” “anointed cloths,” and other assorted “junk.”  Hell won’t be hot enough for such false teachers (Jude 13).  They make merchandise of their followers.

The “healing” that we have thru the death of Christ is the TOTAL redemption of what we lost by sin (Roman 6:23).  We DIED in Adam (Romans 5:17).  We were made ALIVE in Christ (Romans 5:18).  Our souls are made to live again in the new birth (John 3:1-7; 6:63; II Cor. 5:17).  Our bodies will live again at the resurrection of the body (I Cor. 15:19-58).

The “healing” Christ secured for us is an EVERLASTING healing, not a mere temporary healing of some bodily disorder.  We have neither a temporary “salvation” nor a temporary “healing”-we have EVERLASTING LIFE, SOUL AND BODY!  We shall “never see death” (John 8:51)-that is, the eternal death [separation from God] which is the “wages of sin” (Romans 6:23).

We will have sickness and all of us will die physically, unless we are taken up in the rapture, but we shall be “healed”-raised from the dead-and never “taste death” which is eternal.

The “salvation” preached by these modern fakers is as temporary as the “healing”-you can have it today and lose it tomorrow.  They preach “free-willism” for salvation instead of God’s will (John 1:12, 13; 6:37).  Such doctrine discredits and disgraces the death of Christ (Gal. 3:1-3).

According to the “healing” theory, both salvation and healing are “in the atonement” and may be “claimed” by faith.  The fact is, however, while we are saved from sin in regard to our position with respect to the Law and judgment to come, we are not yet saved from the depravity of our human nature.  This will be experienced when we receive a new body (I Cor. 15:42-57).  The present body is “mortal” and “corruptible,” it shall be “changed” to an “immortal” and “incorruptible” body at the resurrection (I Cor. 15:53-54).  The present body is a “vile body,” but will become a “glorious body” when Christ returns for His own (Phil. 3:20-21).

Therefore, the TOTAL “healing” of the body is such as our salvation-fulfilled at the resurrection from the dead-“we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body” (Romans 8:23).

When the modern “healers” get sick, they go to doctors and even to hospitals.  Why?-if they can “claim” their “healing” on the basis of the atonement?  Also, why do they die?  If they are “healed” from all disease by the atonement, does their physical death mean that they do not accept the atonement?

Don’t be deceived, and don’t send your money to the “fake healers” who never have, never will, and never can “heal” any one thru their false promises and perversions.  If those fake healers could do all they claim, why don’t they heal themselves?  Why do they die?  “Physician, heal thyself” (Luke 4:23).

Every last one of these liars and thieves should be jailed for mail fraud, deceptive advertising, racketeering, “bunkoing,” theft, and criminal conspiracy.  If you think I am being “hard” on them, just wait and see what the Lord says to them!  Better still, read it for yourselves in Matthew 7:21-23.

I am watching one of these false teachers on TV as I write this article-a woman “preacher” (a Scriptural violation of God’s order) and instead of the Gospel of Christ, she is “preaching” the “healing” heresy she says she and her husband learned from Hagin, one of the “Word-Faith” teachers.  All of this modern teaching on “healing” is a facet of the self-proclaimed “pentecostalism” which was “founded” by Charles Parham, a heretic who was arrested in San Antonio in 1907 on charges of homosexual acts (FIELDS WHITE UNTO HARVEST by James Goff, pages 106, 136).
